Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

We appreciate the good level of bilateral relations and the political will to further strengthen cooperation between our countries, considering it a direct interest of our foreign policy. Albania stands in full support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its NATO and EU integration process, as well as the necessary reforms undertaken within these dynamic processes.

Currently, a number of agreements have been concluded with Bosnia and Herzegovina in many areas, creating a favorable legal framework for the promotion of bilateral cooperation.

Even though trade exchanges with Bosnia and Herzegovina have increased in recent years, they remain at low levels and far from the potential that exists between our countries.

In the framework of strengthening relations with the Albanian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which represents a bridge for enhancing the friendship between our two countries, we encourage cooperation in areas such as education in the mother tongue, the integration of Albanians in institutions of Bosnia and Hercegovina, cultural and scientific exchanges with Albania, etc. In order to further strengthen trade and ties between our people, in October 2016, was inaugurated the opening of the General Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Albania in Sarajevo.
