Albana Agastra

Albana Agastra (Qehajaj) holds the position of Advisor to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, from January 2021.

Ms. Agastra has 30 years of experience in media, technology and public communication:

– Journalist/tv reporter, political issues and election campaigns (1997 – 2009);

– Correspondent in conflict areas (1999 – 2005);

–  Chief editor and news director in the visual media (2009 – 2014);

– Advisor for Media and Communication as well as Relations with the Parliament of Albania, in the Ministry of Urban Development; (2014 – 2017)

– Media Advisor  and Relations with the Parliament at the Ministry of Defense; (2017 – 2014);

– From 2021, Ms. Agastra holds the position of Advisor in the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

 

She has been graduated in Language and Literature at “Aleksandër Xhuvani” University (2001) and completed her Master’s studies (communication science) at the University of Tirana, Faculty of History – Philology.

Ms. Agastra has conducted a series of trainings at the national and international level in the field of media and communication:

– Training course for political correspondents/reporters (BBC), United Kingdom;

–  Journalism in the conflict areas (Reuters, CNN); Washington DC, USA;

– Media and integration in the European Union (EU), Belgium

– The International Leading Visitor Program (IVLP) on “Women, Peace and Security” (US Department of State), USA;

– Communication Strategy and Foreign information (NATO), Belgium and the Netherlands

– Social media and governance (US Department of State);

– Women and girls in the conflict zones (UN)

– Parliament relations and communication expert of election campaigns;

– Public and media relations;

– Social media.

 

She speaks: English, French and Italian.

Ms. Albana Agastra (Qehajaj) is the mother of two sons.
