Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Diplomatic relations between Albania and Georgia were established on July 8, 1993. Bilateral relations between the two countries are active in the framework of international organizations, while in the bilateral plan there is still room for their intensification.

Three agreements have been signed that regulate cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the two countries, as well as visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic and service passports. At the same time, another direction of cooperation is the exchange of experiences related to the implementation of reforms in the field of justice.

Albania supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia. Our country has always adhered to the position of the EU, expressing support for the security and stability of Georgia, based on full respect for its independence and territorial integrity.

Albania does not recognize the “independence” of the self-proclaimed republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Georgia is on the list of countries whose citizens enter visa-free in Albania, as a result of visa-free entry to the Schengen area.
