The state of Qatar with an extension to the Middle East, has an area of 11,586 km² and a population of 2,479,995 inhabitants. The capital of Qatar is Doha and the official language is Arabic.  Independence Day is September 23, 1971.

OVERVIEW

The Republic of Albania and the State of Qatar established diplomatic relations on August 26, 1992. Bilateral relations culminated with the opening of embassies in the respective capitals. Albania has opened its embassy in Doha and the State of Qatar has opened an Embassy in Tirana.

BILATERAL RELATIONS

Both countries have very good bilateral relations, based on a solid legal framework that creates a secure environment for economic and trade exchange, culture, etc. by both parties.

Mutual visits confirm the commitment of both parties to further enhance the level of relations and cooperation. In April 2019, the Prime Minister Mr. Edi Rama visited the State of Qatar and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Mr. Ditmir Bushati, in 2015 has visited Doha. The Emir of Qatar, has visited Tirana in 2011.

In addition to bilateral relations, relations between two countries are extend to the multilateral level within international organizations where both countries adhere.
