Diplomatic relations between Albania and the Republic of Moldova were established on 23 December 1992. Relations between the two countries are considered good. Starting from April 2024, Albania covers the Republic of Moldova from the Albanian Embassy in Bucharest, Romania.

Albania and Moldova are countries that implement between themselves the Agreement on the amendment and extension of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), which was signed in Bucharest on 19 December 2006 and began to be implemented during 2007.

Both countries have lifted the visa regime for the citizens of Albania and Moldova.

Albania supports Moldova’s European aspirations.

Economic relations with Moldova are at a low level, with a slight upward trend. The revitalization of economic cooperation remains a priority in the political-diplomatic program of both parties. Several agreements have been signed in the field of economic co-operation; however, it is estimated that there are possibilities to further deepen and consolidate cooperation in the future.
