Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, is in Northwestern Europe. Norway has a total area of 385,252 square kilometers and a population of 5,258,317 million. The official currency is Norwegian krone (NOK). Norway is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of government.

The diplomatic relations between Albania and Norway were set up on May 29, 1971. Albania has no embassy resident in Oslo, so our Embassy in Stockholm also covers Norway.

Relations between the two countries are very good. Norway strongly supported Albania’s NATO membership and assessed our foreign policy positively, considering it as a stabilizing factor in the Balkans region.

The very good relations in the political plan are also reflected in the strengthening of economic relations: the Norwegian company Statkraft has invested in the energy sector.

Registered Norwegian businesses relate to import-export, wholesale and retail trade of industrial goods. Their presence is a good indicator not only of the value of the direct investments they represent, but also of the standards with which they work.
