Albania considers Switzerland a very trusted partner and a priority country in terms of development cooperation. Both countries share their common interest in the development and stabilization of the Western Balkan region. Switzerland is among the first countries to recognize Kosovo’s independence.

Bilateral relations are focused on development cooperation, the strengthening of economic cooperation, and collaboration on migration and consular issues. Albania and Switzerland cooperate very closely on various matters of bilateral and international scope.

The exchange of high-level visits has been frequent and has contributed to the intensification of our bilateral relations.

Both countries hold regular political-diplomatic consultations, which take place alternately in Bern and Tirana. Likewise, Albania and Switzerland cooperate closely within the framework of international organizations where they are members.

The relations between the Parliaments of both countries have also been frequent and intense, including the exchange of visits of the highest parliamentary level.

The legal framework that regulates relations between Albania and Switzerland is diverse. We have agreements between the two countries in areas such as trade, transport, economy, customs, consular, legal, security, energy, agriculture, etc.
