Political Dialogue: The Republic of Albania and the Republic of Cyprus have established diplomatic relations at Ambassadorial level on 29 August 1991. Both our countries have good bilateral relations, with the good will to further expand cooperation between the two countries in all fields of mutual interest.

Relations between the two countries were marked by an increase in bilateral contacts during the Cypriot presidency of the EU in 2012, especially in the context of the European integration process. In the context of the upcoming Cyprus presidency of the EU Council in 2026, there is potential to further increase bilateral exchanges, as well as high-level contacts, including in the framework of the European integration process.

The Republic of Albania has closely followed the developments in Cyprus and has continuously supported and continues to support the decisions and resolutions of the UN, as well as those of the Security Council and the UN General Assembly for the solution of the Cyprus issue in a peaceful and realistic manner, based on international and European standards and values.

Economic and commercial cooperation: Albania and Cyprus have signed a series of agreements in the field of tourism, in the field of international road transport of passengers and goods, in the promotion and mutual protection of investments, in the field of customs, as well as in the field of cooperation European integration. However, there are still many areas that need further efforts for a closer bilateral economic cooperation in the future.
