The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, has outlined the priorities of Albanian diplomacy for the remainder of the year, focusing on the European Union accession process, regional cooperation, and the reform of the Foreign Service.

In a post on the social media platform X, Hoxha stated that the Government Seminar held in Pogradec provided an opportunity for an in-depth analysis of the country’s priorities, including those related to foreign policy.

According to the Minister, the successful continuation of the EU accession process remains Albania’s primary objective and requires increased momentum, a clear focus, and full diplomatic engagement.

Another priority will be to strengthen regional cooperation, with the aim of fostering a more stable, interconnected Western Balkans that is closer to the European Union.

Minister Hoxha also underscored the need for further modernization and simplification of consular services, so that they become faster, more accessible, and more citizen oriented.

Particular attention will also be devoted to the continued reform of the Foreign Service. According to Hoxha, the objective is to build a modern, professional, and merit-based diplomatic service, with a diplomatic corps capable of representing Albania with dignity, safeguarding the country’s national interests, and generating greater value for the country.

In this regard, the Minister identified as priorities increasing Albania’s impact in terms of its image and cultural and social promotion, strengthening ties with the economy and trade, creating new partnerships and opportunities, and delivering tangible results for the country and Albanian citizens.

“A European Albania also requires a European diplomacy,” is the message with which Minister Hoxha has summarized his vision for Albanian diplomacy going forward.
