The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, held a meeting with his Slovenian counterpart, Tone Kajzer, on the occasion of their participation in the Bled Strategic Forum, BSF26.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed Albania’s accession process to the European Union, the future of Europe, and the strategic importance of the Western Balkans.

A particular attention was paid to further strengthening economic ties and increasing people-to-people contacts between Albania and Slovenia, with the aim of bringing them closer to the excellent level of political relations between the two countries.

Minister Hoxha and his Slovenian counterpart shared the conviction that the enlargement of the European Union is, above all, a merit-based process, supported by reforms, concrete results, and mutual trust. At the same time, enlargement represents an increasingly important geopolitical imperative and an investment in a stronger, safer, and more stable Europe.

Minister Hoxha underlined Albania’s full commitment to maintaining the pace of reforms and fulfilling its commitments within the European integration process, with the objective of moving decisively towards completing the accession negotiations with the European Union by the end of this decade.
