Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, was received today in Bucharest by the Prime Minister of Romania, Luca Niculescu.

The discussions focused on further strengthening the longstanding partnership between Albania and Romania as NATO allies, a partnership driven by a shared European future.

In a post on the social media platform X, Hoxha noted that “with Prime Minister Niculescu, we discussed how to give further substance to our bilateral relations and expand economic cooperation and investment.”

Closer cooperation in addressing the challenges facing our region and Europe was also high on the agenda.

Minister Hoxha expressed Albania’s gratitude for Romania’s unwavering support for the country’s path towards membership in the European Union.

“Romania’s experience and European journey remain particularly valuable to us as Albania advances with determination towards EU membership. Our ties are deeply rooted in history, but their greatest potential lies in the future,” the Foreign Minister stated.
