At the invitation of the Holy See, Prime Minister Edi Rama has departed for Rome, where he will undertake an official visit to Vatican City, accompanied by his spouse, Mrs. Linda Rama, and an official delegation.

The Prime Minister will visit the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican, where he will be received in the San Damaso Courtyard by the Prefect of the Papal Household and the Gentlemen of His Holiness.

This reception will precede the audience that Prime Minister Rama will hold with Pope Leo XIV in the Papal Library of the Apostolic Palace.

The visit will then continue to St. Peter’s Basilica, including the Stanza delle Lacrime, the Cappella Paolina, the Sala Regia, the Sistine Chapel, and the altar of Saint John Paul II.

At the conclusion of their stay in the Vatican, Prime Minister Rama and his spouse will visit the burial site of Pope Francis at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.

The program of the visit also includes additional meetings, among them a meeting with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican.
