Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

During his official visit in Spain, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, held a meeting with students of Carlos III University of Madrid, engaging in an open, dynamic, and inspiring exchange on the future of Albania and Europe.

During the discussion, Minister Hoxha commended the students’ curiosity, critical thinking, and engagement, underscoring their essential role in shaping the future of the continent. He emphasized that dialogue with young people is not only enriching, but indispensable for building more inclusive, forward-looking policies.

Responding to students’ questions, the Minister outlined Albania’s progress on its path toward the European Union, highlighting the importance of reforms, good governance, and the strengthening of the rule of law as key transformative processes bringing the country closer to the EU.

The students’ strong interest in EU enlargement was welcomed by the Minister as a clear reflection of the strategic importance of this process, not only for Albania, but for the European Union itself. He stressed that European affairs now stand at the core of the country’s political life and ongoing modernization efforts, firmly anchoring Albania’s future within the European family to which it naturally belongs.

Minister Hoxha further underlined that, in an increasingly complex and uncertain international context, it is essential for the EU to continue to demonstrate unity, cohesion, and vision.

This engagement is part of the Ministry’s continued commitment to fostering dialogue with youth and the international academic community.
