Albania strongly condemns the attacks carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi against civilian and economic targets in the southern regions of Saudi Arabia, which have resulted in dozens of civilians being injured, including women and children.

We also condemn the attacks targeting the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran, as well as the continued attacks against commercial vessels in the Red Sea and any attempt to restrict freedom of navigation and the security of international maritime transport.

This aggressive policy threatens the security and stability of Yemen itself, Saudi Arabia and the region, while undermining efforts towards dialogue and peace. The protection of civilians, respect for international law and freedom of navigation must remain inviolable.

Albania remains firmly committed to supporting international efforts to promote peace, stability and security in the region.
