Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Albania stands in full solidarity with the European Union and the United Kingdom in response to Russia’s malicious cyber activities and supports the coordinated measures taken to hold those responsible accountable.

We strongly condemn cyberattacks and other malicious cyber activities targeting critical infrastructure, public institutions, democratic processes, and the security of Allied and partner nations. Such actions are unacceptable. They undermine international stability, violate the norms of responsible state behaviour in cyberspace, and pose a direct threat to our collective security.

Having itself been the target of significant cyberattacks against critical national infrastructure, Albania is acutely aware of the risks posed by state-sponsored cyber and hybrid threats. We therefore reaffirm our commitment to strengthening cyber resilience, enhancing preparedness, and deepening cooperation with Allies and partners to deter, prevent, and respond to such activities.

As a NATO Ally and an EU candidate country fully aligned with the Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, Albania remains committed to supporting collective efforts to defend a secure, resilient, open, and rules-based cyberspace.
