Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Vilma Premti, together with the Executive Director of the National Diaspora Agency, Ms. Ermonela Xhafa, and the Director of the Directorate for Economic Diplomacy, Culture and Diaspora at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Silvana Leskaj, held a consultation meeting today with representatives of Albanian Professional Associations in Italy, as part of the process of drafting the National Diaspora Strategy 2026–2030 and the Action Plan 2026–2028.

The meeting focused on the needs, challenges, and priorities of the Albanian diaspora community, as well as on ways to strengthen the engagement of Albanian professionals abroad in the economic, social, and cultural development of Albania.

Participants shared their experiences and put forward concrete proposals, making a valuable contribution to the enrichment of the strategic documents. The discussion once again reaffirmed the importance of maintaining an open and continuous consultation process with the Albanian diaspora, recognizing it as an important partner in the country’s development processes.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the National Diaspora Agency remain committed to ensuring an inclusive consultation process, while recognizing and valuing the contribution and expertise of Albanians wherever they live and work.
