Argentine Republic (República Argentina), with an area of 2,780,400 sq. km., is the second-largest country in South America, after Brazil.

Argentina has a population of more than 44 million people and one-third of it leaves in Buenos Aires, the capital of the Republic.

Argentina is composed of 23 provinces and 1 autonomous city (Buenos Aires). The official language is Spanish. Independence from Spain was declared on 9 July 1816. Argentina’s current constitution, effective form 11 may 1853. Argentina has a bicameral National Congress (Senate and Chamber of Deputies).

Argentina has the second largest economy in South America. It is a founding member of the United Nations and a member of the G15 and G20, World Bank, World Trade Organization, Mercosur, Union of South American Nations, Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, Organization of Ibero-American States, specialized agencies of the UN, etc.

Bilateral relations Albania – Argentina

OVERVIEW

The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Argentina were established on 5 October 1973.

Diplomatic coverage is with accredited non-resident Ambassadors from Brazil, for us, and from Rome for Argentina.

BILATERAL RELATIONS

Albania and Argentina enjoy good relations.

High level visits and meetings have taken place in the last decades, and a number of agreements on political dialogue and economic cooperation are underway.

Argentina was the third commercial partner in Latin America. Albanian imports are dominated from products of animal origin and meat.

Both countries have identified areas of interest in trade, tourism and agriculture and various initiatives are underway to complete legal and institutional framework and to establish direct contacts at different levels.
