At the invitation of Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha participated in the European Forum Alpbach in Austria, where he joined the panel discussion entitled “Capability and Resilience: Mobilizing Europe’s Power to Act.”

The panel explored how Europe can strengthen its capacity to act and shape its future in a rapidly changing global environment.

In his remarks, Minister Hoxha emphasized that, for Albania, as a country firmly committed to its path towards European Union membership, the present and future of the country are deeply intertwined with the future of Europe itself.

“Europe’s challenges are our challenges, and the decisions taken today will help shape the Europe we aspire to join tomorrow,” he said.

Minister Hoxha underlined that Albania is not simply preparing for EU membership but is already making a tangible contribution to Europe’s security and stability.

“Albania is not merely preparing to join the EU. We are already contributing to Europe’s security and stability through our unwavering alignment with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, including the adoption of EU sanctions and participation in EU-led missions and operations; through our active role within NATO; and through our steadfast commitment to the values, principles and responsibilities underpinning the European project. We are ready to take on an even greater role in addressing our common challenges.”

The Minister stressed that Albania’s ambition is not merely to be ready for Europe, but to be a constructive and valuable contributor to Europe.

“The Europe we aspire to join should not simply be larger. It should be a Union that is more capable of acting, faster, when necessary, stronger when challenged, and more united when it matters most. This is why Albania values being part of the European debate today: because we want to help shape the Europe of tomorrow,” the Foreign Minister concluded.
