Tirana, 7 September 2026 – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, received today the U.S. Special Envoy for Global Partnerships, Paolo Zampolli.

The meeting focused on opportunities to further deepen the strategic partnership between Albania and the United States, with particular attention to expanding economic cooperation, increasing trade exchanges, and promoting U.S. investment in Albania.

The interlocutors reaffirmed the special relationship and enduring friendship between the two countries, as well as their shared commitment to translating this close bond into new partnerships and tangible benefits for the citizens and economies of both countries.

Minister Hoxha emphasized that the transatlantic link remains the cornerstone of Albania’s security and an essential pillar of democratic resilience.

“The strength of our friendship also lies in our ability to create new opportunities for cooperation that bring closer ties, greater prosperity, and tangible benefits to both our countries and peoples,” Minister Hoxha stated.

The meeting confirmed the commitment to identifying concrete areas and initiatives that will provide new momentum to Albania-U.S. cooperation, particularly in the economic dimension of the strategic partnership.
