Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha received this morning in Tirana the Chair of the German Bundestag Committee on European Union Affairs, Anton Hofreiter.

Minister Hoxha stated on the social media platform X that the meeting provided a valuable opportunity to assess the progress made by Albania through its ambitious reform agenda on its path towards European Union membership.

“Germany has been one of Albania’s strongest and most steadfast supporters throughout this journey. We highly value Germany’s support for a merit-based enlargement process and its leadership in promoting a credible European perspective for the Western Balkans,” Minister Hoxha wrote on X.

The meeting also reaffirmed the excellent relations between Albania and Germany, as well as the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries, including parliamentary exchanges.

According to Minister Hoxha, the shared objective of this cooperation remains a stronger and more united Europe.
