Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

During his visit to Washington, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, held a meeting with Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Marko Đurić, on the margins of the Ministerial Meeting on Countering the Resurgence of Political Terrorism.

The two ministers exchanged views on current developments and future prospects.

In a post on the social media platform X, Minister Hoxha stated that during the meeting he reiterated Albania’s position regarding the unacceptable statements made by a member of the Government of Serbia concerning Kosovo.

“I also reiterated Albania’s clear and firm position regarding the unacceptable and irresponsible statements recently made by a member of the Government of Serbia and emphasized the need to unequivocally reject rhetoric that fuels tensions, undermines regional stability and cooperation, and runs counter to the spirit of good-neighbourly relations and European values,” the Foreign Minister stated.

“This is what diplomacy represents: engagement in open dialogue, looking each other in the eye, confronting reality, and addressing differences responsibly,” Minister Hoxha wrote.
