Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha today received Canada’s Ambassador to Albania, H.E. Elissa Golberg, with whom he discussed bilateral relations and opportunities to further expand cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Hoxha praised Canada as a friendly country, a NATO ally and a trusted partner of Albania, expressing his gratitude for its contribution to the country’s democratic consolidation and socio-economic development.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted that relations between Albania and Canada have expanded and deepened in recent years, creating new opportunities for practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including strengthening people-to-people ties, tourism, trade and economic cooperation.

Particular attention was also given to joint efforts to establish the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank, a multilateral financial mechanism aimed at supporting the development of capabilities in the fields of defence, security and resilience, offering further opportunities to deepen cooperation in these strategic areas.
