The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, signed the Artemis Accords at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., making Albania part of the international community committed to the peaceful, transparent, and responsible exploration of outer space for the benefit of all humankind.

The signing ceremony was attended by NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Space and Environment Connor Tomlinson.

In his remarks, Minister Hoxha described the signing of the Artemis Accords as an important moment for Albania and a step towards the future, underscoring the importance of science, innovation, and international cooperation.

“For Albania, this moment is more than a signature. It is an expression of our confidence in science, innovation, and international cooperation. It is a moment that creates new opportunities for our younger generation and brings our country closer to the technologies, knowledge, and partnerships that are shaping the future,” Minister Hoxha stated.

According to the Minister, joining the Artemis Accords adds a new dimension to the strategic partnership between Albania and the United States, reflecting their shared commitment to innovation, progress, and cooperation in new frontiers.

Through the signing of the Artemis Accords, Albania joins international efforts to promote the peaceful and sustainable exploration of outer space, as well as to strengthen cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.
