Developments in Serbia demonstrate the importance of civic engagement and the freedom of the vote as expressions of democratic will. Civic energy, when represented through institutions, offers an opportunity for change, but also entails responsibility for those entrusted with the confidence of the citizens.

Special congratulations go to the Albanian Coalition and the Albanians of the Preševo Valley, who have achieved a significant result in these elections. According to preliminary projections, two parliamentary seats are within reach, while the race for a third seat remains open. This representation should serve to advance the rights of Albanians, ensure equal treatment, and address their legitimate concerns.

In this new political chapter for Serbia, the normalisation of relations with the Republic of Kosovo remains a fundamental responsibility. Albania expects constructive engagement in the dialogue facilitated by the European Union, respect for and implementation of the agreements reached, as well as concrete steps towards stable good-neighbourly relations. Political change should also create new opportunities for peace and cooperation across the region.

Albania remains ready to cooperate with the institutions emerging from this electoral process, on the basis of mutual respect, shared interests, and a commitment to a more stable, secure Western Balkans oriented towards a European future
