Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

On 18 February 2026, the Fourth Monitoring Committee meeting on the implementation of the Albania–France Intergovernmental Agreement was held at the premises of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, following the signing of the Agreement during the visit of Prime Minister Edi Rama to Paris.

The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Megi Fino and the French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness Nicolas Forissier. Representatives of various ministries and institutions involved in the implementation of the Agreement participated in the discussions, covering key sectors such as water management, innovation, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and tourism. The meeting reviewed the progress of specific projects and identified the steps to be undertaken during the coming year to further advance their implementation.

Bilateral relations between Albania and France are characterized by an excellent level of cooperation, grounded in mutual respect, shared values, and a strong commitment to European integration. These relations are based on the Albania–France Strategic Partnership Declaration signed in 2017 and sustained through high-level political dialogue, including the recent visits of President Emmanuel Macron to Albania in October 2023 and May 2025, as well as Prime Minister Rama’s visit to Paris in April 2024.
