As part of his official visit to Bucharest, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, met with Alexandru-Mihai Ghigiu, Romania’s Minister of European Investments and Projects.

The meeting focused on the positive momentum of Albania’s EU accession process and the need to strengthen institutional and administrative capacities required to meet the responsibilities that future EU membership entails.

The Ministers also explored opportunities to enhance cooperation between local authorities in Albania and Romania, drawing on Romania’s valuable experience in aligning local governance with the EU acquis.

In this context, discussions also focused on the effective use of cohesion policy instruments in support of regional and local development.
