INFORMATION ON TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FOR ALBANIAN CITIZENS, IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES.

Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, based on the situation caused by Covid-19 restrictions, for passengers travelling abroad, to prevent any potential problems, informs in real-time about any change in the travel regime, related to the Albanian citizens.

The European Commission has approved the Digital Covid-19 certificate for Albania:

This certificate is equivalent to the EU digital Covid-19 certificate, connected to the EU system, with the same conditions and validity.

At the same time, Albania has agreed to accept EU digital Covid-19 certificates, for travel from the EU to Albania. After receiving full vaccination, Albanian citizens can easily travel to the EU countries.

The Council of the European Union has recommended certain criteria and rules, for the residents from the third countries, referring to the movement in the EU states. Concretely, the Council recommends that member states should lift the temporary restriction on non-essential travel to the EU including Albania. Starting from 1st of march 2022, these rules apply to:

-Persons vaccinated with an EU- or WHO-approved vaccine, provided they have received the last dose of the primary vaccination series at least 14 days and no more than 270 days before arrival or they have received a booster dose.

-Persons recovered from Covid-19.

-For some of the travelers, member states could also require a PCR test in advance.

-No test or additional requirements should be applied to children under the age of 6.
