Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Minister Hoxha:
“It was a particular pleasure that my first official ministerial-level meeting was with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo, my friend Glauk Konjufca, who is in Tirana for the Fourth Diaspora Summit.

Although our time was limited, we will make use of every opportunity to meet — in Tirana, in Pristina, and wherever we can work together.

I am confident that we will meet frequently to discuss the many issues that unite us. Everything that happens in Kosovo is of importance to Albania, and I believe the same is true in return.

Our interests are shared, our commitment is strong, and the opportunities before us are significant. In today’s meeting, we discussed all matters relevant to strengthening the fraternal relationship between Albania and Kosovo, reviewing our agreements, understandings, and commitments.

We have an important responsibility to advance every commitment made in Tirana and in Pristina, at every level — ministerial, governmental, and presidential — for the benefit of Albania, Kosovo, and the wider region.

Dear Glauk, thank you for this meeting. It is only the beginning of an excellent and close cooperation for the common good of our societies and our countries.”

Minister Konjufca:
“It is a great pleasure for me to be here at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania and to be welcomed by my brother, Minister Ferit Hoxha, for whom I — and the people of Kosovo — hold deep respect.

In every responsibility he has undertaken, Minister Hoxha has been a strong voice in advancing the interests of our nation, especially in support of Kosovo whenever it was needed.

We had an excellent and friendly meeting, during which we discussed the priorities ahead for our two states, as well as Kosovo’s path in important multilateral forums, including future memberships, European integration, and accession to the Council of Europe.

Ultimately, our two states advance the interests of the Albanian nation in the international arena. This is how I see the foreign policy of Albania and Kosovo.

I wish you every success, Minister Hoxha, and I wish continued progress for our two states and for our nation as a whole.
