The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, met with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, on the margins of the General Affairs Council, currently taking place in Dublin.

During the meeting, Minister Hoxha underscored the importance of Albania’s participation in every forum where the enlargement of the European Union is discussed, with the aim of presenting Albania’s progress and its model throughout this process. He also commended Commissioner Kos for her role in advancing the enlargement agenda.

Minister Hoxha and Commissioner Kos exchanged views on the current dynamics of the accession process, its prospects and, above all, the importance of maintaining the pace and momentum of the negotiations.

For Albania, Minister Hoxha stressed, the objective remains clear: to move forward with determination and close as many negotiating chapters as possible during the course of this year, while continuing to implement reforms and fulfil the commitments undertaken.

“Enlargement is about merit, momentum and results. Albania is ready for all three,” Minister Hoxha stated.
